In the CLEF Laboratory, I pursue my keen interest in sensory cortical plasticity, its contributions to auditory learning and memory as well as alteration of these processes by epigenetic mechanisms. Prior to joining the CLEF Lab, I spent a year in the laboratory of Prof. Kate Jeffery at University College London, working on the role of hippocampal place cells and replay in optimal path-finding in rats. Then, I completed my master’s degree in Psychological Sciences (Psychobiology section) at Bogazici University. My research projects involved adoption of psychological, physiological, genetic and epigenetic approaches to understand underlying mechanisms of several affective and cognitive processes including prenatal stress and risk-taking behavior.
